Cyber Slingo, A Unique Combination of Internet Interactive Game and Instant Lottery Ticket
MONTRAL, Quebec, Canada (March 29, 2004) On February 23, 2004, Loto-Qubec's subsidiary INGENIO and Oberthur Gaming Technologies (OGT) successfully launched the very first Internet lottery game in North America with the New Jersey Lottery. The game, Cyber Slingo®, is one of the most exciting new products to hit the lottery industry in years.

Cyber Slingo® is the Internet adaptation of the world-renowned game Slingo®, rights exclusive to OGT in the lottery industry. Relying on INGENIO's patented multimedia lottery concept, the Cyber Slingo® play mechanic is downloaded off the Internet, and executed through an access code provided on an instant lottery ticket which also governs the lottery game outcome.

In 2000, INGENIO granted OGT the rights and license to sell and distribute INGENIO's multimedia games around the world. "For many lotteries, multimedia lottery games broaden appeal and penetration with new and existing consumers, and increase sales. These interactive games are not only entertaining and fun, but are absolutely the best way to offer attractive, secure and legal games to be played on a computer," said Carla Schaefer, OGT's Vice-President of New Business Development.

Since 2000, the partnership between INGENIO and OGT has extended well beyond product distribution. "The marriage of INGENIO's creativity and OGT's marketing expertise resulted in new interactive multimedia games based on internationally recognized trademarks with extensive target markets," explained INGENIO General Manager Nathalie Rajotte.

INGENIO is a subsidiary of Loto-Qubec, one of the first lottery corporations in North America, and one of its most dynamic. As a public corporation owned by the government of Qubec, one of INGENIO's mandate is to innovate and create a whole new generation of lottery games by taking advantage of the countless possibilities afforded by multimedia. In fulfilling this mandate, INGENIO aroused interest of the lottery industry, through the creation of multimedia lottery games, for which it holds worldwide patents.
